  GPSC BUSINESS MEETING LOCATION CHANGE [top]  
     
 

Beginning in December, the Green Party of Sonoma County will be meeting at The Share Exchange at 531 5th Street in Santa Rosa.

The next meeting will take place at 7 PM on Monday, 12/19. Please link to our meeting page for a map and for the latest meeting information.

  GREEN PARTY PRESIDENTIAL FORUM [top]  
     
 

The race for the 2012 Green Party Presidential nomination has begun!

Two candidates for our nomination - Jill Stein and Kent Mesplay - will attend a forum this Saturday in Los Angeles, California to discuss their visions for a national Green campaign. The forum will be sponsored by the Green Party of California at Vermont Square United Methodist Church in Los Angeles at 8pm PT. The event will be streamed live here. It will also be archived so you can check it out later.

The Green Party will select a nominee next July at our national convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Information on our nominating convention is available here.

The Occupy Movement is active in Sonoma County. If want to learn more about the movement or want to support, join, or start a group in your area, please visit these websites:

Occupy Together - a hub for occupy events around the world. Find, plan, or start a group in your area

Occupy Santa Rosa (OSR) - a local group in solidarity with #OccupyWallStreet. Browse the OSR calendar to find the next event or action to be held.

OSR General Assembly - learn about OSR's General Assembly and participate in Open and Working Group discussion forums.

  OPENINGS AVAILABLE ON THE GPSC COUNTY COUNCIL [top]  
     
 

If you are a registered member of the Green Party, and you are interested in playing an important role in growing the Green Party in your home county of Sonoma, there is a great opportunity waiting for you: become a GPSC County Council Member by filling one of the two vacancies available!

As a County Council Member, you will act as a conduit of information between the Green Party of California (GPCA) and county members. Council members also have the authority to:

  • Coordinate internal communications;
  • Arrange monthly business meetings and special meetings;
  • Act as necessary to carry out the decisions of the GPSC and make administrative decisions between meetings of the GPSC;
  • Make statements in the name of the GPSC consistent with local and state policy;
  • Conduct campaigns for the GPSC and its candidates for public office, including 'None of the Above'; and
  • Empower committees approved by the GPSC.

(Sat) Women's Spaces 200th Show
Santa Rosa Comcast Channel 26 and ATT U-Verse
5:00 PM - 5:30 PM

"A Child's View of Gaza" is an interview with Therese Walrath which includes a 7 minute DVD of the children's art show from Gaza.

These shows can also be viewed on ATT U-Verse at the same times. For ATT go to Channel 99 Govt/Local Programs - find Santa Rosa - Select Channel 72. It can also be seen on the Women's Spaces website the following week.

 

(Tue) Movie Night at the Share Exchange: River & Tides
The Share Exchange
531 5th St., Santa Rosa
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

"An evening of nature art, hands on activities and a showing of Andrew Goldsworthys River and Tides. Concludes with an optional stroll around downtown to set our creations free. One component of an SSU graduate project."
