| REGIONAL CONVERGENCE ON BOHEMIAN GROVE - 7/15 TO 7/17 [top] | ||
Green Party of California is co-hosting with Sonoma County Green Party a regional Convergence on Bohemian Grove this July 15-17th to expose and consider how we can address the strong Bohemian connection to the events we have seen unfold these past twenty-thirty years. Information on this year's event can be found at: http://sonomagreenparty.org/newspaper/Boho_Convergence_2005_1.html We will greet the incoming Bohemians on Friday, Protest them on Saturday, as they prepare to cremate Dull Care. Then on Sunday the 17th, we are planning a focused, facilitated community discussion and assessment of our ability to end or neutralize this administration and put an immanent end to the occupation as we strive for a more positive future. Among the topics for discussion and action so far identified are to push for impeachment (see below); file criminal actions against CEO's of offending corporations; deny corporate personhood and challenging corporate charters for offending corporations; push for a war profiteers tax and reclaiming our privatized medical industry, energy systems, water systems, education, even our ballot counting. Each of these topics is a front in the struggle to wrest the power from the abusers of all that our Constitution and Bill of Rights stand for. Spread the word, bring your ideas and organizing will. We look forward to converging with you this summer, Don Eichelberger, Co-Chair, GPCA Issues Working Group- 415-567-4577 |

| SUNSET THE USA PATRIOT ACT DEMONSTRATION - 7/8 [top] | ||
If you are familiar with the USA PATRIOT Act and how it has trampled on your civil liberties, you may feel a little relieved that 16 of its controversial provisions are supposed to sunset at the end of this year. Unfortunately the Bush administration and many in Congress do not want to see that happen, and they are lobbying hard to keep the so-called 'PATRIOT' Act intact. If you feel strongly about your Constitutional rights, please stand up for them in a "distributed demonstration" that will be taking place in multiple Sonoma County cities during the week of Independence Day on Friday, July 8, between 5:30 and 7:30 PM! Call 542-3037 or email scpia@roadtaken.com if you would like to be assigned to a demonstration team, or if you would like sign up as a coordinator to lead your own team of 4 or more people. Want to know more about how our civil liberties have been sacrificed in the name of fighting terrorism? Please attend a free showing of the DVD "Unconstitutional" which will be held at New College in Santa Rosa on July 6 at 7:30 PM (donations are welcome). Also visit http://www.roadtaken.com/scpia for more information about the 7/8 action. Both the demonstration and the DVD showing have been endorsed by the GPSC Bill of Rights Defense Working Group. |

| UNITED FARM WORKERS BOYCOTT GALLO WINE [top] | ||
The United Farm Workers invites people of good will to join our second boycott of Gallo wine in 32 years. Hundreds of farm workers and supporters were there to kick off the new international boycott of Gallo wine June 14 on the steps of San Francisco City Hall. Together we will convince America's wealthiest wine making family to do the responsible thing by stopping the exploitation of their workers. The Gallos deny the majority of their farm workers benefits and grievance rights. The Gallos abuse, cheat and deny these workers benefits, job protections and humane living conditions in the heart of California's fabled wine country. The Gallos say they have no responsibility for the miserable conditions endured by their vineyard employees because they are "temporary workers". Through this boycott, people of goodwill can have a say. "No Gallo!" Please sign the petition informing the Gallos of your decision to join the boycott. And pass it on to your friends. Go to: http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/nogallo?rk=711bbc51_cgRW. Click on the link below for more information from your union, online activism and benefits. http://www.unionvoice.org/ Gallo produces wines under many labels. Boycott all Gallo products:

| DOWNING STREET MEMO IS EVIDENCE FOR BUSH IMPEACHMENT [top] | ||
News Release Thursday, June 9, 2005 The Downing Street Memo proves that invasion of Iraq wasn't the 'last resort' but Bush's intent all along, leading to cooked intelligence and other impeachable offenses; Greens note bipartisan and media complicity in overlooking evidence of deceit, urge public protest. WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Green leaders reiterated the party's July 2003 call for impeachment of Bush, and called on all Americans outraged by the Bush Administration's list of deceptions, violations of the U.S. Constitution, the disastrous Iraq occupation, and policies that have disgraced the U.S. to demand that Congress begin the impeachment process.
