NOW is the time to contribute to local Green campaigns! Green
candidates in your area appreciate your vote, but they also need your
help in getting the message out to your neighbors, friends, and family
that there are viable progressive choices on the ballot this November.
Contact a campaign near you to get involved in these last few weeks
before the election. Let's celebrate some victories on November 2nd!

Note: Sam Pierce, candidate for Sebastopol City Council and a long
time Green Party member, is asking for volunteers to help walk
precincts, stuff envelopes, and do lots of other tasks. Donations are
needed too. If you can help, please contact Jim Housman at 823-7564 or
e-mail at jjhman@comcast.net.

GE-FREE SIGNATURE DRIVE UPDATE

The Green Party of Sonoma County is working in coalition with GE-Free
Sonoma County to qualify an initiative for the spring ballot. We are
continuing to gather signatures to ban the growing of genetically
engineered crops in Sonoma County. To succeed we need another 29,000
signatures before the rains come - so we may only have until late
October to accomplish this! Every hour you can help is crucial - don't
wait until after the election to get involved. To sign up for a shift
gathering signatures outside a supermarket or event, call the campaign
office at 823-4410. To find out where you can pick up a petition kit
to gather signatures on your own, go to the website for a list of
petition pick-up locations: http://www.gefreesonoma.org.

FREE FILM SHOWINGS OF "THE FUTURE OF FOOD"
This acclaimed 90-minute documentary is an in-depth investigation into
the disturbing truth behind the unlabeled GMO products that have
quietly filled grocery store shelves over the past decade. Thorough,
clear and compelling, makes the complex issues understandable. This is
one of the best-made documentaries I've seen, and certain to get just
about anyone opposed to genetic engineering and ready to act. More
info at: http://www.thefutureoffood.com

We will have VHS copies of the film available for a campaign donation
of $25 or more, and it will soon be available to borrow from public
libraries and (locally owned) video stores throughout the county.

WORKSHOPS ON GE
