GREEN TALK: BEYOND SPOILER POLITICS - IMPLEMENTATION OF DEMOCRATIC
ALTERNATIVES
Thursday, July 3, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
New College of California, 99 Sixth St., Santa Rosa
(Just north of Railroad Square on the corner of Wilson and Sixth)

Daniel Solnit, our principle speaker, will talk about the change of
mind-set and methodology necessary to move America past the politics
of war, corporate welfare and human disenfranchisement. Green Party
values will be discussed and compared to Democratic party practices.

Green Talks are informal meetings hosted by the Green Party of Sonoma
County (GPSC) on the first Thursday of each month. At a Green Talk you
will have an opportunity to focus on topics of interest to you and
other Greens in Sonoma County; connect with other Greens to exchange
ideas and keep each other informed about local events; and build the
party by becoming an active, participating member of the GPSC.

For more information or to suggest topics for future Green Talks,
contact the Green Party of Sonoma County at (707) 524-8818 or

"DEMOCRACY CHECKED OUT!": A PRESENTATION ON THE USA PATRIOT ACT
Wednesday, July 9, 7:30 PM
New College of California, 99 Sixth St., Santa Rosa
(Just north of Railroad Square on the corner of Wilson and Sixth)

Learn about the USA PATRIOT Act which was signed into law in 2001 and
the Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003 (a.k.a., USA PATRIOT Act
II) which has been secretly drafted by the Justice Department. Both
expand the powers of the Federal government by diminishing the
constitutional rights of citizens and non-citizens in the U.S. This
free presentation by New College of California and the Arlene Francis
Foundation will feature speakers Judith Volkart, past chair and
current board member of the Sonoma County ACLU, and Tom Trice, Sonoma
County Library Director.

For more information on the presentation, contact New College at (707)
568-2605. For information on how you can help with the Green Party of
Sonoma County's efforts to pass city resolutions in defense of the
Bill of Rights and against the USA PATRIOT Act, email
