Sonoma County Greens,
WORK TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS!
Are you upset that the USA PATRIOT Act and certain executive orders
enacted after 9/11/01 have diminished your civil liberties? Are you
troubled because although one state and 96 cities, towns, and counties
have passed resolutions and one ordinance to defend the Bill of
Rights, Santa Rosa--the hub of Sonoma County--is not yet on that list?
If you are--NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT!
The Green Party of Sonoma County (GPSC) is a founding and active
member of a local coalition which has drafted a resolution for Santa
Rosa. Members of the coalition are currently talking with Santa Rosa
city council members to win their support for it. The resolution will
NOT pass, however, unless the city council is convinced that the
residents of Santa Rosa are behind the effort. This is where your help
is crucial.
Please email green@roadtaken.com if you are interested in helping the
effort by petitioning, phonebanking, writing letters, and/or attending
the city council meeting when the resolution is presented to the
council for a vote. A GPSC strategy meeting will take place on May 8th
at 7 PM to discuss the mobilization effort. If you would like to
attend, send an email to the above address requesting meeting info.
